Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. This grassroots organization is the nation's largest community organization for low- and moderate-income, mostly minority families. ACORN, and it’s sister organization, ACORN Housing, offer housing counseling services on behalf of low and moderate income families
GreenPath Debt Solutions is a nationwide nonprofit consumer credit counseling service based in Michigan. They provide counseling services over the phone and the Internet to homeowners in most states. They also have 37 offices around the country, many of them in Michigan, where borrowers can receive face-to-face counseling.
National Urban League
A community-based organization that works to help African-Americans enter the economic and social mainstream. They are a HUD-approved counseling agency with more than 100 local affiliates in 35 states and the District of Columbia serving more than 2 million people nationwide through programs, advocacy and research.
