As reported by the New York Times, Renée Zellweger just put her New York City home on the market.
Renée’s Upper East Side compound is primarily made up of two apartments that were purchased (and joined) back in 2007. This 3,750 space, located less than a block from Central Park, boasts three bedrooms and three and a half baths. The actress is also selling a one-bedroom apartment next door (purchased in 2008) that would allow a buyer to have a complete floor-through residence.
Tabloids report that the Bridget Jones’s Diary actress is perhaps ditching the East Coast for new West Coast digs with her boyfriend Bradley Cooper. While her romantic commitments and motivations for selling are all up for speculation, the facts about what it takes to buy her New York City home are not.
The double apartment is listed with an asking price of $6.975 million. Purchasers must put 25% down, which comes out to a cool $1,743,750.
Here’s a breakdown of the cost using one of the mortgage calculators from the MortgageLoan.com website. If you were to take advantage of this week’s average 4.24 percent rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage, the total monthly mortgage payment on a loan for $5,231,250 comes to $26,078.99 a month. Add to this a $2,611 maintenance fee and you’ve got a total monthly payment of $28,689.99.
Purchase the single apartment next door (listed at $1.975 million) and you’ve got an additional monthly mortgage plus maintenance payment of $8,753.19. Add that to the payment for the other apartment and you’ve got a total monthly bill of $37,443.18.
