Rates Up On Yesterday's Weakness

Rates were down today as the bonds recovered some of the losses posted yesterday. Still, rates will rise today based on yesterday afternoon selling, by about .25 to the price. It is a relatively quiet day today, at the end of a tumultuous week for mortgage rates. The stock market is still the biggest influencer for today, and any volatility could still shake things up. Next week we have a full week of economic data and a Fed meeting as well. Highlights of the data are the December New Home Sales data due on Monday, Tuesday will bring us Durable Goods Orders and the Consumer Confidence Index for January. Later in the week we'll get employment cost, personal income, spending, manufacturing and economic growth data. Look forward to a very full week.
