Mortgage Rates Trend Up

Mortgage rates get upward pressure as economic indicators are pushing up confidence. Early unemployment numbers we less than projected, US Treasury is talking positively about the Bank Stress Test, and some housing markets are showing signs of bottoming. It seems that less bad is the theme of the day and giving confidence back to the market. Eyes are on tomorrow's treasury auction to see if there continues to be confidence in the US government's debt financing--ability to carry and increasing deficit.
