Bumpy Road for Mortgage Rates

Mortgage bond rates opened the morning in a positive direction (mortgage rates lower). However, the movement is now beginning to dramatically shift towards the negative. Continued language from the US government (notably Treasury Secretary Geithner) that now is the time to refinance your mortgage maybe spooking the bond markets that "quantitative easing" may be reaching a "target" point. In which case, Federal Reserve's stimulus (MBS and treasuries buying) may pull back. Look for mortgage rates to remain volatile over the remainder of the week.
