Mortgage rates, after a slight re-pricing to higher rates, seem to be stable. Following a flurry of economic reporting and glimmers of positive corporate eranings, the MBS market is relatively quiet. The US Treasury did a good amount of MBS and treasuries buying to hold down rates as equities had a good week. Inter-bank rates, measured by LIBOR also began to turn downward--indicating a potential thawing of corporate and bank credit markets.
