Mortgage Rates Hit 5.0%

According to the MortgageLoan survey of 30-year fixed-rate mortgage rates we are headed below 5 percent. More poor jobs data from ADP and negative surprises in the equities market from Intel and Time Warner continue to push down mortgage rates, reacting to money flows back to bonds. Expect more of that today with weekly jobless claims to be equally negative and holiday retail sales reporting expected to be the worst in recent history. It looks very possible mortgage rates could find a new supported level below 5 percent.
