Mortgage rates closed last week relatively flat. You can expect a similar result on this short week. There is certainly a lot of volatility in the mortgage bond market. Meanwhile, treasuries and mortgage rates seem to be disconnecting for the long-term making forecasting more difficult. The likely scenario for the week is that volatility will remain in the market, but mortgage companies will be hesitant to make any real changes in mortgage rates.
