Mortgage Rates Flat

Expect mortgage rates to remain stagnant. All investors seem content to stay on the sidelines with their cash. The yield curve is flatting with little pressure to move it up or down.
The opening market is not taking the bailout plan, Wachovia acquisition, and European Fortis news well. This is driving a continued hording of cash.
Expect banks to continue to resist lending, control consumer lending with tightening guidelines (not rates), and credit to stay log jammed for the near future.
