ISM Results Stronger Than Expected; Yet Bonds Still Rise

Bonds were up today regardless of reported stronger than expected economic news. However rates will not change today due to weakness from Monday afternoon trading. ISM reported that their manufacturing index rose in excess of expectations in the month of June. Analysis were expecting to see a decline. This is bad news for mortgage rates as it suggests that the manufacturing sector may be healthier than previously thought.
