President Obama's latest loan modification plan has driven homeowners to the Internet for answers. Online traditional news outlets, as well as specialized real estate and mortgage news and information sources are reporting significant increases in consumer traffic and inquiries.
Trulia, an online real estate search engine, recently reported that their online community is getting a dramatic surge in discussions around topics like: foreclosure, stimulus, financing, 8000 tax credit, and home inspections. Trulia also indicated that the volume on those discussions are also increasing, with foreclosure up 170 percent and financing up 61 percent.
These topics are obvious calls for understanding on recent mortgage modification programs that are already underway for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac held mortgages. Consumers are reading the headlines and looking for answers.
This has driven similar increases in volume to our own consumer resources here at MortgageLoan.com. Our Mortgage Loan Modification Guide has become increasingly popular as has our inquires to local mortgage brokers in our lender directory.
Loan modification programs are becoming increasingly inclusive; however, the challenge has been getting through the process. Mortgage servicers and lenders simple don't have the capacity, or in some cases the competency, to process these loan modification requests efficiently.
This is making it all the more important for consumers to gather as much information as possible--before they make that call. Learning how the program works, whether you are qualified, and what to bring to the lender are all critical elements to getting your mortgage modified.
The government appreciates that challenge and launched FinancialStability.gov to walk through consumers initial questions:
* How does a Home Affordable Refinance or Modification Work? * Am I Eligible for a Government-Assisted Loan Modification or Refinance?
A few extra minutes researching online--with the right resources--can expedite your loan modification request.
