Rates Neutral to Better On Weak Consumer Confidence Data

Bonds were neutral to positive today, recovering some of yesterdays losses in the morning and later retreating. Rates should improve or stay the same, at most by an .125 of a point. The Conference Board released the CCI for March showing worse than expected consumer confidence levels, which is a good sign for mortgage rates. Tomorrow we'll get Durable Goods Orders which shows the strength of the manufacturing sector, as well as February's New Home Sales report.
